MENINGKATKAN EFIKASI DIRI DAN AKTIVITAS HIDUP PASIEN ARTRITIS DENGAN LATIHAN BERBASIS RUMAH DI MANADO: SUATU PENELITIAN KUASI EKSPERIMEN
Arthritis is one of the diseases that accored mostly in elderly. This disease can have a negative influence on the physical and psychological so that it affect their quality of life. Treatment efforts through exercises have not been properly addressed either by health care personnel or patients themselves. This study aimed to determine the effect of home-based exercise to arthritis self-efficacy and activities of daily living. This research utilized quasy-experimental research design, using non randomized control group pretest and posttest. The sample in this study were 109 arthritis patients divided into 2 groups, namely home based exercise intervention group and control group. The result of the research showed that there were differences of self-efficacy on pain and other symptoms as well as activities of daily living before and after intervention with p-value of 0.000. The results of the analysis found that home-based exercise had a significant effect to self-efficacy on pain and other symptoms and activities of daily living with p-value of 0.000. It can be concluded that home based exercise is significant to increase self-efficacy on pain and other symptoms and also improve activities of daily living. It is recommended for nurses to use these interventions as part of their independent nursing intervention and also for improving arthritis self-care for patient and the family.
