THE PERSISTENT LOVE IN CHARLOTTE BRONTE’S JANE EYRE

Abstract

This research sought to reveal out how love has power determine someone’s happiness, how love has power to forgive despites of all the wounds  it has caused. Need of love is one of human natures, but love can be so bitter and also sweet at once. Of course everyone wants to only feel the sweetness of love rather than its bitterness. But the most important, this research wanted to prove that the persistent love of Jane and Rochester is exposed in the novel. This  research was conducted by using qualitative research. The intensification of the reading process of the novel will be an important part in this research since the conclusion of the research was strikingly determined by the data in the novel itself. The results indicated that Jane Eyre maintained her love towards Edward in several ways.
