PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN RELAKSASI OTOT PROGRESIF TERHADAP PENINGKATAN PENGETAHUAN DAN KETERAMPILAN PADA PENDERITA DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2
Increased blood glucose levels can cause various complications that result in disability and even death. Progressive muscle relaxation (ROP) as a useful exercise for lowering blood glucose levels in people with diabetes mellitus. Prevention of diabetes mellitus complications can be done through ROP health education to improve sufferers' knowledge and skills in maintaining health. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of health education about ROP to increase knowledge and skills in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This study uses a pre-experimental method with one group pre-test post-test design. The research location is in the working area of the Kombos Community Health Center. The population is all people with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Kombos Community Health Center. With a total sample of 30 respondents with diabetes mellitus who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The test used is the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test with an alpha value <0.05. Based on statistical tests, there is the effect of health education about progressive muscle relaxation on increasing knowledge and skills with a p-value of knowledge 0,000 <0.05 and p-value of skills 0.00 <0.05 in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Health education is effective in increasing knowledge and skills in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the work area of the Kombos Manado Health Center.
