Abstract

Hospitals are among public facilities with high trip-generation rates and therefore require adequate parking facilities. This study aims to evaluate the adequacy of parking facilities at RS Sentra Medika Manado based on parking volume, parking accumulation, and parking index.

The method employed was a field survey conducted over three days, consisting of two weekdays and one weekend day, from 06:00 to 21:00 Central Indonesia Time (WITA), with 15-minute observation intervals. Data on vehicles entering and exiting the parking area were analyzed to determine parking volume, maximum parking accumulation, and parking index.

The results indicate that the maximum car parking accumulation reached 424 vehicles out of a total parking capacity of 430 spaces, with the highest parking index recorded at 98.60%. The average parking index was 66.58% for motorcycles, 85.35% for cars, and 33.33% for trucks/buses. Parking index values below 100% indicate that the available parking capacity remains sufficient; however, car parking approaches saturation conditions during peak hours.
